Why Validator exists

We did not design these projects to demonstrate a tool. When reviewing the work done, we found something unexpected: very different contexts kept needing the same mechanism.

The question that appeared in each case was always a variant of the same one:

How do we make something verifiable that normally depends on trust?

The contexts were different. The question was the same.

Research

Documenting how a result was built

In work on psychosocial risks of AI-assisted cognitive work, a concrete methodological question arose: if analysis is produced in collaboration between a researcher and an AI system, how is that process documented in a way that is verifiable and does not depend solely on the author's declaration?

The need was not technical. It was epistemological: ensuring that what was declared about the process of knowledge production could not be modified retroactively.

Public administration

Documenting what information was actually received

In monitoring public information access through the Provincial Transparency Observatory of Seville — covering all 106 municipalities in the province — the same friction appeared: records of what was requested and responded exist, but are not independently verifiable.

The need was for audit: an external, immutable record of what occurred, not dependent on the system that holds the original data.

Essay / Reflective work

Documenting the traceability of a creative process

La Catedral Invisible emerges from a sustained conversation over months between a human operator and different AI systems. The question that appeared: how is that distinction documented in a way that does not depend solely on the author's good faith?

The need was about authorship: being able to demonstrate the nature of the creative process without having to reconstruct it after the fact.

Validator was not born for any of these contexts in particular. It was born from observing that the same problem appeared in all of them.

Validator verifies document integrity and technical conformance with the PTC protocol. It does not replace legal, scientific or material assessment of the content.
